Jumping For Josie – Mission Complete

November 1st, 2007

Following on from the story posted in August of this year we are pleased to report the tandem skydives have now taken place and all Miller participants are still in one piece!

Congratulations to Melissa Smith, Angela Appleby, Clare Dolan, Stephen Smith and Dean Gibson. Unfortunately Simona Placano was out of the country at the time of the jump and subsequently was unable to attend.

After a number of false starts due to adverse weather conditions the intrepid five eventually jumped on the 20th October 2007 – please see the photos for evidence!

The purpose of the jump was to raise as much money as possible for the Josie Leukaemia fund. The fund was set up by the Grove family who lost their daughter, Josie Madeline Grove, when she passed away in February 2007 after her two and half year battle with Leukaemia.

The group would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored them. Angela Appleby added

It was the experience of a lifetime with the added bonus of raising approximately £2,000 for a very deserving charity.

The money raised will be used by the Josie Leukaemia Fund to improve the quality of life of children suffering from Cancer and Leukaemia.
