MILLER READIES FOR BREXIT WITH TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS

North east based attachment manufacturer Miller has continued its investment into business development with two new appointments as they look to build on growth whilst preparing for Brexit.

Miller are specialists in the manufacture and supply of high-quality attachment solutions to the world’s leading earthmoving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), OEM dealers, and global excavator end users and with less than 80 days before the end of the transition period when the UK leaves the EU, Miller are making it their priority to have the right team in place to prepare for Brexit and beyond.

Scott Taylor joins Miller as the Sales & Applications Engineering Director, where he will be responsible for global business development with new and existing customers whilst providing global leadership and direction of all Miller OEM/OED sales activities.

Before joining Miller, Scott served with AAF International for 30 years, and during this time he became a qualified engineer serving on various international committees and also ISO. In 2009, Scott moved into the aftermarket group as Global Sales and Aftermarket Manager, managing a global team of sales and applications engineers, having enjoyed growing AAFs’ aftermarket business from a domestic to a global business. During this time, Scott studied for a business degree at Newcastle Business School, graduating first class with honors degree.

In 2017, Scott took on a new role within AAF of New Product Introduction & Market Development Manager, where he was responsible for the strategic planning and launching new technologies, where at the time of leaving, he had grown a new business unit and positioned them as industry leaders in the oil & gas space.

Innovation is at the core of this company and the team are constantly looking to push technology boundaries to ensure that products are at the forefront of safety standards, earthmoving efficiency, durability and value,” commented Scott.

In parallel, John-Paul Calvert joins Miller as Sales Manager, where in his new role he will develop and sustain strong customer relationships and be heavily involved developing sales strategies throughout the UK. Prior to Miller, John-Paul also worked for AAF International where he was the Market Development Leader and responsible for ensuring consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues for the company’s new filtration product within the UK and Ireland.

Commenting on Miller’s new appointments, Business Development Director James Ross said, “The demand for attachments is becoming more focused and people want better quality attachments that save time, make it easier for them to do their jobs and to do it safer. We are committed to hiring the best industry talent and the addition of both Scott and John-Paul’s portfolio provide an ideal foundation having proven their abilities in both the oil & gas and power generation industry.”

In addition he added, “To support our growth and ambitions, we have built a very strong team with diverse and relevant experience. Covid has been challenging, however with signs that the construction industry is recovering, Miller are making it a priority to have the right team in place to drive expansion plans for the future.”
