Mini Miller Breaks New Ground
November 1st, 2006Miller UK, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of attachments for earth moving equipment, is breaking into the small digger market with the launch of the Mini Miller quick coupler and task bucket range.
Building on its reputation for efficient buckets and attachments made for large machines for global companies like Caterpillar, Volvo, Hitachi and Komatsu, the Mini range is designed to bring the same time and money-saving benefits to a host of users from landscape gardeners to local authorities.

The company is forecasting that it could be equipping a large percentage of the world’s mini excavator market by 2008.
Jacqui Miller, Sales and Marketing Director of Miller UK, said the development of the complete Mini attachment range followed three years of research and the success of small earth mover products made by Miller for global excavator manufacturer Caterpillar.
CAT has given us some very encouraging feedback. The decision to invest in research and development to create the range is also in response to demand from customers who know the quality and longevity of our products on large machines and want to have that same premium performance on smaller excavators.
For Miller UK as a company it is expansion into a lucrative new market which is growing faster than any other in our industry.
The Mini Miller package comprises of:
- Cast Quick Coupler for fast, efficient, simple and clean attachment changeover.
- Digging and Loading Scoop Bucket for general digging and loading.
- Vertical Wall Bucket for digging straight sides with minimal reach from the machine, vital on a confined site.
- Trenching Scoop Bucket for digging trenches for pipe work or foundations.
- Ditch Cleaning Bucket for general tasks and site clearance duties.
Prototypes were developed at the Cramlington factory in Northumberland and have undergone a rigorous test programme with the industries leading brands.
Gary Miller, technical director of Miller UK, said:
The type of work mini diggers usually do is intensive and in a confined space. We’ve done a lot of work to design products that are compact, easy to attach and remove manually and will have a long life with little maintenance. Safety is also paramount for machinery that is moving around a small site.
Miller has built a reputation over the past 30 years of being a trusted quality brand. It is the pioneer in delivering innovative quick coupler and bucket solutions to the construction industry. This new move into the mini excavator market is a bold step but one the company is confident will be well received.
After testing the Mini Miller package Jeff Morris, owner and driver of mini excavators had the following to say:
The Miller mini coupler makes a huge difference to everyday working on the site. Instead of taking 10 minutes to change a bucket it takes seconds. The machine feels as though it doesn’t have a bucket on because the Scoop design digs through the ground much easier.
