Coupler Misuse & Bad Practice
Some common occurrences of bad practice regularly seen on work sites are:
- When an operator does not follow the correct attaching process as recommended in the operator’s instruction manual.
- Not engaging on both pins when moving a bucket or attachment.
- Not inserting the manual safety pin before operation if your coupler requires one.
- Using the quick coupler to pick up and move attachments using the front jaw only.
Please view the following document for further examples of quick coupler misuse and bad practice on-site.
Miller strongly advises against the following practices and recommends that the coupler is only used as intended as per the operational instructions.
